Welcome!
My name is Christie Morgan and I love food.
I am also a dietitian. One HUNGRY dietitian!
...
I know, weird huh? You never thought a card carrying member of the "Food Police" would even touch a chip. Or ice cream. Or candy. Or cupcakes. Or bacon. Or...well you get the picture.
Another thing you should know about me is that I've also lost about 80lbs...with about 60 more to go. And let me tell you....I shed blood, sweat and tears for each and every ounce. Not to mention having to avoid alll the diet scams, pills and gadgets out there taking their sharpshooter aim at my efforts. How is ANYONE supposed to get healthy when you don't even know what is real and what's fake?
Um...check please?
Thanks for visiting and welcome to my journey geared at cutting through the crap when it comes to health and fitness. Because let's be honest.
Life is too short to not eat ice cream, but it's also too short to NOT take care of yourself.
"Life is too short to not eat ice cream, but it's also too short to NOT take care of yourself. " So true! I find that I have to go back and remind myself of what it means to take care of myself.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Molly! Taking care of ourselves is something we forget to do on a daily basis. I have the exercise part down....but it's the food I really struggle with.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your definition of "Taking care myself"?
I do better with food than exercise, probably. I'm not terrible with either, but both could use improvement. I only reliably exercise once a week on dance class night. I would like to get back to riding my bike and doing yoga regularly as well. Since I'm at home all the time, I often don't eat a proper lunch and end up eating an extra-large snack instead, which doesn't have the same nutritional value. Also, since living with Scott, I've had a bit more trouble planning healthy meals because he doesn't like leafy greens, tomatoes, squash, onions, broccoli, brussels sprouts, mushrooms or eggplant. Plus he's much more likely than I am to order a pizza, but then I'll eat the pizza for lunch, too.
ReplyDeleteOf course, "taking care of myself" also includes working on my career goals and completing projects I want to finish. I'm doing pretty terribly at that. TV and internet are my "junk food" in that arena.
