Greetings! I've made it through my first official day of cleaning up my eating habits and trying to rid myself of a few of these pounds. If you've ever thrown all into a weight loss program...sometimes those first few days can be rough. And I'm talking "someone give me a spoon and the half gallon of peanut butter ice cream" rough. But I made it! I did have my ice cream...but I had 1/2 cup instead of like, 2 cups.
**Huge victory**
I think part of the reason I am documenting my 30 Day Challenge on this blog is for accountability. Aaaah accountability. It can be the deal breaker when it comes to weight loss success. Often times being accountable to ourselves just isn't enough. There is the age old adage that you should "get a weight loss buddy." But many of us just don't have the luxury of someone who is as committed to the cause as we are.
And thus I am forcing you to be my "weight loss buddy." Thanks for listening :)
Here is a great article on how 12 ways to motivate yourself:
12 Ways to Motivate Yourself
I was successful in my endeavors to reduce portion sizes and make healthier choices. I chose NOT to count calories....but instead decided this month will be about behavior change, intuitive eating and taking the pressure off myself. More on that as I move forward
Here is a video clip of the workout I did today. Cathe Friedrich is a big idol of mine-
I have decided to post my before and after pictures after the 30 days are over. But I will say...starting weight = 220lb.
Here's to a healthy week!,
Well, I was already thinking of trying to parallel your challenge to yourself in order to give myself some motivation. I'll be your weight loss buddy and I challenge your other readers to do the same! 30 days, we can do it!
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I went to (and taught) dance class. I didn't do as well as I would have liked on the food front, though, since I really ate snacks in lieu of dinner.
Glad to hear you want to parallel my challenge! I have really enjoyed blogging about my experience here...even in the 2 days I have really challenged my current habits...I already feel motivated knowing I have people I need to report back to!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you did your dance class...you made exercise fun! Many people seem to shy away from it because they think the only type of exercise is running....or the elliptical. THere are many ways to get moving!
BTW....I tried your Kale chips at the party...SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have a recipe I can share with people?
